This stunning work of art was created by the artist by sinking a length of sheer, white silk beneath a pool of water in the early hours of the day, when the sunlight could best be captured filtering through its elegant surface. She sank the cloth using a weight from her studio, dove into the water and captured its float down and within the depths of the pool using an underwater camera. The artist then captured a self-portrait using mirrors and allowed the images to dance between one another by superimposing them in studio.
The vibrant color within this piece translates beautifully to Baryta Fine Art Paper, a luxurious thick cotton paper with a semi-glossy surface. This quality fine art paper is reminiscent of the double-weight fiber papers used in the black and white darkroom, an ideal fit for this elegant original piece.
Limited edition museum wraps are sprayed directly onto high-quality canvas and stretched over wooden rods, with a UV-resistant finish to protect from sunlight fading over time. They are ready to hang, as the traditional box canvas print requires no frame, as the stretcher bars push the image a good three-quarters of an inch from the wall or surface. Edging will consist of a classy white trim, giving this piece a stunning pop, as opposed to the bleed on other museum wraps.
Another variant for the avid art collector is the limited edition white aluminum, dibond metal print. The piece is printed directly onto the metal surface using state of the art equipment and can be mounted to any surface via the 3/4" deep inset frame. As there is no paper or canvas surface affixed to the surface, the UV-resistant inks will not fade, even if they are displayed out of doors. The gloss white metal, as opposed to the gloss brushed clear aluminum, serves to preserve the original tones in a given work of art.
