Montage
These intricate works of art are the result of countless hours spent by the artist in and out of studio, capturing, refining, selecting and combining visual imagery through the use of digital media. Once an idea has been birthed within Jennifer's mind, she will stop at nothing to achieve the desired effect, whether that be through mixing different chemicals, paints and organic matter in studio for initial documentation, to wilderness forays, performance art or large-scale installations, such as her infamous nest in the year 2020. She has also been known to frequent many pools of water, both domestic and wild, in order to photograph the sunlight filtering through sheer cloth she sunk with weights or her own body floating within its depths. Underwater photography remains a passionate interest for this prolific creative force. Once she has amassed enough material, the artist then sits back and combines the imagery using her fingertips on a touch screen. In her words, "An artist must use every tool he or she can; we cannot build on the shoulders of those who have come before us if we refuse to embrace what is new."
Digital montage has proved to be the perfect tool for achieving stunning imagery that can be easily translated onto metal, wood or paper using a meticulous process entitled "giclee;" a french term meaning "to spray on." Archival quality ink is sprayed onto a given surface using an extremely accurate jet and is widely considered to be the most accurate fine art reproduction currently available. Baryta fine art paper is an optimal surface, as it preserves the original colors and gives the work a beautiful, pearl finish, as opposed to the glare on a traditional photographic print or the muted tones of a Bamboo print. These limited edition prints are a beautiful addition to any home, however for those art lovers looking to acquire a truly unique work of art for their home, our suggestion would be either a museum wrap or an aluminum dibond metal print.
Limited edition museum wraps are sprayed directly onto high-quality canvas and stretched over wooden rods, with a UV-resistant finish to protect from sunlight fading over time. They are ready to hang, as the traditional box canvas print requires no frame, as the stretcher bars push the image a good three-quarters of an inch from the wall or surface. Edging will consist of a classy white trim, giving this piece a stunning pop, as opposed to the bleed on other museum wraps.
Dibond metal prints are sprayed directly onto the white aluminum metal surface with state of the art equipment and can be mounted to any surface via the 3/4" deep inset frame. As there is no paper or canvas surface affixed to the surface, the UV-resistant inks will not fade, even if they are displayed out of doors. The gloss white metal, as opposed to the gloss brushed clear aluminum, serves to preserve the true vibrant color of the original piece. Select pieces will be printed onto the clear aluminum as a chosen effect by the artist, so the metal surface will be visible through the lighter layers of the piece.
